MAXCS™ is a Distinctive Element of Rio-Carb's Successful Formula.

Chromium Carbide alloys have impressive features:

  • They are affordable and extremely hard, with a hardness of 1800 V.P.N.
  • These alloys can withstand heat up to 500°C.
  • Applied by weld cladding, they reach a hardness of 56-58 Rc.
  • Controlling the cooling rate after weld cladding affects CrC crystal growth.
  • This leads to vertical dendrites, which are upward-oriented crystal columns.
  • CrC liners contain 24-25% Chromium, which is 12 to 15 times more than the Chromium in “400” and “500” Q+T martensitic steel.
